ASSOCIATE

Reese Fernandez is an associate who brings nearly a decade of experience in nonprofit development and communications, with a focus on strategic fundraising, grant writing, and impact storytelling. They have led development efforts at organizations such as BAYCAT, The Nature Conservancy, and Save the Redwoods League. While at BAYCAT, Reese secured multiple grants for clients from the National Endowment for the Arts and California Arts Council in support of youth-centered media arts programs.

Growing up between Los Angeles and Manila sparked Reese’s curiosity about how one’s environment can shape access, equity, and belonging. Their development work is deeply shaped by their background in climate and social justice. Reese holds a degree in Geography from UC Berkeley, where their interest in equity and environment took root through work with the Berkeley City Planning Commission.

Reese is also a multidisciplinary artist and teacher, using writing, dance, and storytelling to explore identity, community, and healing—guided by the Pilipinx value of kapwa, or shared self.
