Khushbindar Kaur Sood

Khushbindar Kaur Sood is a senior associate at Sheikh/Impact, where she brings over 18 years of experience in grantmaking, fundraising, and organizational capacity building.

Prior to joining Sheikh/Impact, Khushbindar worked as a Director of Development for We Are Groundswell (formerly OC Human Relations Council) leading fundraising strategy alongside the board and donor advisory board. She concentrated on development operations, agency-wide CRM implementation, and diversifying their portfolio of grants, individual donors, and corporate support. Her early career experiences left an imprint on equity-centered initiatives and the value of strategic partnerships. As a Program Associate within the Culturally Competent Health Systems grantmaking area at The California Endowment, she co-led the San Diego Workforce Funding Collaborative and delivered technical assistance to Imperial, Orange and San Diego county nonprofits.

Additionally, she co-chaired the OC Grantmakers Summit Committee, chaired the diversity programs for the Association for Fundraising Professional’s Orange County Chapter for nearly a decade, and has a history of working alongside underrepresented populations.

Khushbindar is based in and grew up in Orange County, California. She is a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) and holds a Bachelor of Science in Human Services with a minor in Sociology from California State University, Fullerton.
